In Chetumal, Quintana Roo, we delivered the complete work of the Mayan Train to the people of Mexico. We managed to make it a reality with a sufficient public budget by not allowing corruption or tax forgiveness and by having an austere government. The 1,554 kilometers of the Mayan Train were financed with 500 billion pesos. The year 2024 will be close to 5 trillion in tax collection, a figure that exceeds the 3 trillion of 2018 and the 4 trillion 517 billion pesos of 2023. We thank all those who participated in the construction of this majestic project, the most important in the world in recent times and a legacy for future generations. With the president-elect, we presented awards to construction engineers who carried out priority works of the Government of the Republic: Gustavo Ricardo Vallejo Suárez, commander of the “Felipe Ángeles” Engineering Group; Salvador Fernando Cervantes Loza, general director of Engineers of the Secretariat of National Defense; Camilo Martín Hernández Trejo, from the “Felipe Ángeles” Engineering Group and Constantino Ramírez Sánchez from the General Directorate of Engineers. Later, we cut the ribbon and unveiled the inaugural plaque that reads: “The government of the Republic inaugurates the comprehensive Maya Train project, a railway project in which women and men construction workers, national and foreign technicians and suppliers, as well as military engineers from the “Felipe Ángeles” Engineering Group participated.
