There are people who are interested in their personal origins, those of their family or their country. There are also people who take this to another extreme. I had the luxury of talking with Matías Zaldarriaga. Matías is a physicist, a cosmologist, and he wonders what the origin of the universe was, no more and no less. Matías studied physics at the University of Buenos Aires, did a doctorate in physics at MIT, where he made contributions that catapulted him to fame in the world of science. Afterwards he went through several other institutions until he arrived at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, where he is now a professor (where, among others, Albert Einstein spent a lot of time). Matías is also a member of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States, and many say that he is one of the few Latin Americans who have a significant chance of winning the Nobel Prize in physics. We talked about the origin of the universe and much more. Don't miss it! I am Gerry Garbulsky and I want us to learn together throughout our lives.
