Award-winning historian and writer Mary del Priore has written over 50 books and has many more in mind. She was once a member of academia, but she left it and did so, you see, as an exercise in freedom. What is this “gap”? “The values of our generation are being bombarded,” says Mary. “Enlightenment has become a dirty word; when we talk about collective, about doing something as a group, about a project that involves the community... No! Today people live in their little bubbles, deleting and insulting each other. This is what we had, this aspiration for a change in the world...
