William Shakespeare - world-famous playwright and poet. This year marks the 400th anniversary of his death, but his work lives on. The recording of the lecture by our top Englishman and translator, Professor Martin Hilský, will bring us not only the life of W. Shakespeare at the turn of the 16th century in England, but also 400 years of the life of his work in England and beyond. Three suites by Henry Purcell will be performed by Hana Nohýnková (violin) and Emanuele Gadaleta (cello). The event is included in the worldwide program of celebrations and the British Council Shakespeare lives project.
