What to see in 1 day in Marseille, France! We did this 1-day itinerary and what we saw was incredible! We left the city of Lyon, from the Gare Part-Dieu station and the trip to Marseille was 1h:40. Then we arrived at the Gare (station) of Marseille Saint-Charles. From there we took the M1 (metro 1) and it was 2 stations to the Vieux-Port - Old Port, where our hotel is! We took metro line 1 again and went to the Palais Longchamp, where the Fine Arts and Natural History museums are located, as well as a beautiful garden! Then we went to the highest point in Marseille to see the city from above and visit the beautiful basilica: Notre-Dame de la Garde. In the basilica's courtyard, we took Bus 60 which took us to the Mucem and it was there that we got to know other iconic places in Marseille. Such as the beautiful and grand Cathédrale de la Major and at the foot of the Cathedral there are several restaurants like the one we had lunch at: Andia Marseille 2 Boulevard Jacques Saadé Palais du Pharo - which is in front of the Mucem, but to access it you have to go around the port - and you can also visit. And Mucem is free on the first Sundays of the month, but to go to its terrace and the walkway that leads to Fort Saint-Jean is always free! It is a must to visit this terrace, the walkway and Fort Saint-Jean that reveal beautiful views!
