The entrance to the Rostock seaport will be lowered between October 2022 and March 2025, from 14.50 to up to 16.80 meters. The work stretch from out on the Baltic Sea to the oil port is around 16 kilometers long. It is the largest project off the coast of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and will cost up to 130 million euros. The aim is to enable ships with more cargo to enter the Rostock port than before. The deepening work will not be completed until spring 2025. Residents around the sea canal fear too much noise. More information: https://www.ndr.de/fernsehen/sendunge...
