"I do believe that we are in a veritable state crisis, in a permanent economic crisis anyway," explained Bavarian Prime Minister Markus on Markus Lanz's show on Wednesday. The reason: the incorrect actions of the traffic light parties in redistributing the Corona debts. But what would the Bavarian Prime Minister's solutions be? It is clear that no more debt should be taken on, but rather the state's spending should be tightened. The traffic light government is spending far too much state money on things that are excessive. Markus Söder is referring to social benefits, especially the citizen's allowance. In his opinion, this is where major savings could be made and citizens' allowance recipients could be accommodated with work incentives rather than rewarding them for staying at home. But the heating law, which demands around 19 billion euros, also needs to be overturned in this way. No one is talking about investing 30 or 40 billion in the economy, but the smaller billion amounts would already have an enormous impact. So that the SPD and Chancellor Olaf Scholz can accomplish this, Markus Söder has an offer to the Chancellor: "Scholz should basically fire the partners he has now. We would be ready to perhaps take on responsibility in an emergency situation." He himself would stay in Bavaria, but under Friedrich Merz as the number one in the Union, it could be possible to bring Germany forward again as an economic nation and in politics. He also looks at the CSU: "Their special position is wavering - and with it the personal myth of Söder." Franziska Tschinderle, journalist The Austrian living in Tirana comments on the planned asylum agreement between Italy and Albania. "As an EU accession candidate, Albania is certainly hoping for something in return," she says. Hilke Petersen, ZDF correspondent The head of the ZDF studio in London talks about the controversial asylum deal between Great Britain and Rwanda and about former Prime Minister David Cameron, England's new foreign minister. _____ Here on ZDFheute News you can find out what is happening in the world and what concerns us all: We provide insight into the world of news, explain the background and address social debates.
