This time I'll show you how to convert a locomotive decoder for Märklin. I'm going to convert this ICE 2 from a starter set. The locomotive already has an MFX decoder, but with very few sounds, and the acceleration and braking delays cannot be set separately. So this decoder is now being removed and a new Märklin Sound Decoder mSD3 (Märklin 60979) is being replaced. You do NOT need a Central Station to convert it, just a locomotive (in this case a Märklin hobby locomotive from the 36 series), an mSD3 decoder, a Märklin decoder programmer and a PC (if you want to load your own sounds onto the locomotive). When delivered, the locomotive with the new decoder still has the sound functions of a Herkules diesel locomotive, but this can be changed with the Märklin decoder programmer. The decoder is now on a special Märklin USB stick. Carefully unplug the decoder so that the pins do not bend, and then place it on the Märklin decoder programmer. With the decoder programmer software, you can download the Märklin sound library (https://www.maerklin.de/de/service/do...) directly to your computer. And you can also add your own sounds. These must be encoded as follows: 16-bit mono sample rate of 15525 I created the sound file with Adobe Audition.
