Delta vs HLA: • Märklin Re 460 Delta vs HLA As one of the first Delta Digital locomotives from Märklin, this SBB advertising locomotive has a Delta Digital decoder with a 3-pole DCM motor. The driving characteristics are accordingly modest and are more reminiscent of analogue operation than a digitalised locomotive. Starting and braking occurs with a jerk and the lighting only lights up while driving and is of different brightness depending on the speed. The Tilsit locomotive can be extremely upgraded by converting to the high-performance drive. For this, a new decoder from ESU is installed and the lighting is correctly connected. The conversion kit to HLA 60941 from Märklin, a decoder (in this conversion: 64614) and the adapter board for the decoder from ESU 51967 are required for the conversion.
