The legend of Czech soul and pop, Marie Rottrová, who is celebrating a significant life anniversary these days, has been an unimaginable part of the Czechoslovak music scene for more than fifty years. She came to the On Air show to recall the talent contest she took part in when she was young, how she got into soul and why in the 1980s she switched - like many of the world's soul singers of that time, including Carly Simon or Diana Ross - rather to pop ballads. How does he remember his beginnings with the bands Samuel and Majestic? How did the lyrics of Jaromír Nohavica sing to her, who also re-texted songs by Black Sabbath or The Jacksons for her? And what does he say about contemporary world soul? Watch the full interview. ON AIR is a talk show by music columnist Pavel Kučera with musicians and people from the music industry.
