In this video I make red cabbage with apple and onion. I also show you how I preserve it. I harvested the cabbages at the end of November and I really had to process them now. Hopefully I can preserve the cabbages for longer in the future. Does anyone have any tips for this? :-) We also picked up piglets this week. You can see them again at the end of the video. So sweet! - - RECIPE RED CABBAGE WITH APPLE AND ONION: Per 500 grams of red cabbage 2 large onions (diced) 2 large apples (diced) 40 grams of sugar 1 bay leaf 2 juniper berries 100 ml chicken stock 100 ml red wine vinegar (if necessary, add more liquid from both chicken stock and vinegar if you like a lot of liquid in your preserved jars (like me!) - - Hi! I'm Ninon and I've been a vegetable gardener for over 10 years. Since last year my husband and I have had a garden in which we (but especially I) are very busy :-). In our garden grow medicinal plants, useful biennials, fruit trees, beautiful flowers, vegetables and much more. All as much as possible mixed together and specifically planted to hide each other. In our garden also live chickens and mice, and hopefully also pigs and bees. I try to build our garden as diverse and circular as possible. I ferment a lot, am looking for the easiest ways to harvest and process, like to dry herbs, bake sourdough bread and occasionally experiment with medicinal plants. On this channel I hope to keep a kind of video diary for myself, because I think it would be wonderful to see how our garden grows over the years and how it is different with each season.
