To make a basket with a handle, Johann Rappold uses hazel sticks in three different thicknesses. The shavings are split from these and prepared on the Heinzel bench. Layer by layer, the shavings are woven together to form a basket that, depending on its size, can be used for a wide variety of applications: from cutlery, tweezers and gift baskets to shopping or laundry baskets, and even feeding and wooden baskets.
