Making a piece of ceramic by hand and watching the clay transform with each step of the process is wonderful! But it's also a lot of work and takes time to get it ready for use. So, I made these videos for those who are curious to better understand the steps involved in making my beloved Xicrinha! Even though each one is initially made using a mold, there are several drying and finishing steps before firing. Not to mention that I also made the plaster mold by hand from the original cup that I turned and sculpted from scratch. After the first firing (1000°C), the piece still needs to be painted, sanded and waterproofed using enamel before the final high-temperature firing (1200°). Finally, it is washed, photographed and packed with great care to go to its new home to be used and loved! I hope to make more videos showing other techniques that I use to create my pieces. I hope you like them! Instagram with the pieces and store: @luiceramica Instagram of the video editor's arts: @hiccup_doodling
