Broom maker Josef Palzer uses fresh birch twigs to make a classic birch twig broom. The branches are trimmed - thicker branches are needed for the shape and thinner branches as filling material - and put together. The broom is tied with a wire. After drying, an additional wooden handle can be used depending on the length of the branches.
