How to wire the electrical panel of a renovated kitchen... HI, DOMOEQUIPO! Excited, one more week, to continue with the third chapter of this trilogy in which we tackle the electrical reform of a kitchen. We started the first chapter by passing all the new wiring through the corrugated tubes and in the sequel we worked with the register boxes. In this new episode, we will continue with the replacement and installation of the electrical panel. Before starting, I want to thank Juan Carlos and his daughter Martina (Barcelona) for sending us the entry for this new #DomoAventura. You have DomoEmocionado me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Seven Times Seven. WILL YOU JOIN ME? Having recapitulated everything we did in the previous two episodes, to finish the assembly, we still have to work with the electrical panel and adapt it to the new installation made in the kitchen. The electrical panel was originally made up of an automatic main switch and a 25A thermal-magnetic switch that supplied power to the entire house. I think it is time to update the installation to meet the new needs. The first thing we are going to do is clean up the electrical panel, remove everything that we are not going to need to work in the most comfortable way possible and try to start from scratch. We have made the decision to distribute the supply in the following way: First we have placed an automatic main switch, to which we link two 40A 30mA differentials. Why? Because according to current regulations, whenever we exceed 5 circuits, we have to insert a new differential so that it does not unbalance the installation. Next, we insert the different thermal switches that will supply power to the entire house. In the upper part of the electrical panel we have placed: An automatic main switch, 2 40A 30mA differentials; a 10A thermal-magnetic switch for lighting (C1), which supplies power to various registers in the house and the kitchen light, and finally another 16A thermal switch for the air conditioning, you may wonder why I haven't used the 25A one (which is what the regulation requires) the reason? I'll explain it to you in the video ???? And now, at the bottom, the remaining thermal-magnetic switches in this order: One of 16A for the general-use power outlets; the second of 16A exclusively for the refrigerator. For those of you who follow me, you know that I do this so that at night, we turn off all the thermal-magnetic switches except the one that is exclusively supplying power to the refrigerator, and thus avoid phantom consumption that at the end of the month will allow us to save on our electricity bill. The third one is 25A for the ceramic hob with a 6mm² section, the fourth one is 16A for the oven (C3) with a 2.5mm² wire, another one is exclusive for the washing machine (C41) with a 2.5mm² section, the electric water heater C43 and finally another one is 16A for the wet areas (bathroom and kitchen). Many of you will have noticed that the C42 (dishwasher) is missing, but it happens that this house does not have one, and apparently it will not have one in the immediate future, they prefer to wash by hand ???? Once the electrical panel is prepared, we continue wiring it so that it works correctly, remember that we have installed two differentials, to make a balanced distribution of the loads, with one of them I distribute four circuits (sockets, refrigerator, ceramic hob and oven) and with the other the remaining five (washing machine, electric water heater, wet areas, lighting and air conditioning).
