The great apes at Berlin Zoo are planning a big operation today! Cockroach control is on the agenda and for this, humans and animals have to move out for a day. This complex measure is carried out regularly to prevent the small pests from settling in the indoor enclosures. For the gorillas, orangutans, chimpanzees and bonobos, this means two nights outdoors and breakfast in the open air. For the keepers, too, everything is different on a day like this. Since they are also banned from the great ape house, they work as building cleaners instead and use the time to clean the bearded macaque enclosure and the baboon rock.
