The arrival of the Cuban revolution (1959) changed the destiny of Cuba in many ways and forms, for example: education as a means of human transformation was politicized, all cultural assets were confiscated, including the magnetic tapes of local record companies, in other words, Cuba's musical heritage in private hands was reverted to favor the revolutionary government. A part of the recordings of La Sonora Matancera was recovered in time, however, many others must still remain in the secret archives of the organization in charge of watching over the musical culture of the island.
