In 1924 they took the name “Tuna Liberal”, then in 1926 they adopted the name “Septeto Soprano”, a year later in 1927, they changed their name to “Estudiantina Matancera”, and finally in 1935, they took their definitive name with which they rose to world fame. With a vast musical formation of wonderful instrumentalists and performers, La Sonora Matancera added musicians and singers throughout its existence.
