The downtown section of Budapest's longest, blue metro line was built fifty years ago, as this is its first reconstruction, everything here reflected the original conditions. The full-scale technical and architectural renovation in an underground environment, where spaces and structures can be modified to a limited extent, is an extremely complex task. The XXI. meeting the expectations of the 20th century, such as the accessibility solution, also presented a challenge to the designers. How did you manage to find the balance between functionality and aesthetics? To what extent has the past influenced the image of the new cabins? How does environmental awareness appear in metro renewal?
