The first hasty test reports were divided as to whether the expensive M1 Ultra should be recommended. One half was delighted with the incredible performance; the other half saw no advantage over an M1 Max. How can that be? — In the show, we explain how the performance of the M1 Ultra is created. As an example, we look at the compression of videos. We show how such a task is distributed across the cores. It turns out that additional cores do not automatically provide more performance. In many scenarios, the M1 Ultra is therefore not much faster than an M1 Max or even a simple M1 (without Pro or Max). We also show how you can actually use the M1 Ultra to its full capacity. We then discuss the results. Visit our fine website, because we only occasionally publish a few videos on YouTube as advertising.
