It seems like an easy choice, right? But is it really? An efficient roof is not made of tiles alone, so this calculation is not so simple. First, we need to understand that the roof must offer protection against the weather and intruders, in addition to providing comfort and security. In conventional construction, you usually need a reinforced concrete slab to protect against intruders and thermal insulation, a plaster lining or similar material for finishing (optional), a wooden structure and the tiles (usually concrete or ceramic). However, this entire set can be replaced by a single material that fulfills practically all of these functions: the sandwich tile. Made with two steel sheets (also available in an option with a sheet to add lining separately), the sandwich tile does away with the need for a slab, offers excellent thermal insulation and reduces the amount of structure required as it is a large metal sheet. Save 50% on the roof structure and considerably reduce labor and the risk of infiltration by installing between 12 and 20 tiles instead of thousands.
