In Nova Friburgo, a mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro, farmers Jovelina Fonseca and Luiz Paulo produce organic vegetables and strawberries on 42 hectares. In the greenhouses, Mrs. Jovelina shows how she has been saving water. She installed an automatic irrigation system. “I found it to be simple and sophisticated at the same time. What I love most is knowing that it is a physiological process, so it is the plant that determines it. The recommendation in the literature is that you water twice a week.
