This is Itsuwa Mayumi's 18th single, released by CBS Sony on August 21, 1980. Itsuwa's producer at the time of her debut, Kida Kosuke, died in a traffic accident on May 18, 1980. When Itsuwa attended his funeral, he wrote the song after seeing Kida's wife weeping in anguish. The lyrics, which describe a "farewell" where the couple will never meet again, apparently came to him on the way home from the funeral. I decided to try it this season. Lyrics and composition: Itsuwa MayumiThe falling leaves of dusk tell of the coming coldOn a bench broken by the rain, there is no song to whisper loveMy love, stay by my side, I'm freezing.Stay by my side and say one thing, I want you to laugh and tell me this talk of breaking up was just a jokePeople pass by in a marathon on the gravel road at a fast paceAs if wishing to forget, they stop, inviting meLover, goodbyeThe seasons come and goBut the two of us that day, the shooting star of the evening, shines and disappears, it was a cruel dreamMy love, stay by my side, I'm freezing.Stay by my side and say one thing, I want you to laugh and tell me this talk of breaking up was just a joke
