25,000 people - the equivalent of the population of a city like Olpe - come together in a single grandstand. For an afternoon of football, they become a closed and at the same time fragile social structure. A community that dissolves after the final whistle, only to reform again 14 days later for a few hours. In 2013, WDR author Klaus Martens and his team accompanied eleven BVB fans: from the moment they take their place in the "yellow wall" until shortly after the final whistle. The result is cinematic impressions with an unusual density of the action and the drama in the grandstand, the likes of which have never been filmed in a football stadium before. For example, there is 70-year-old Karin, who was the victim of a robbery ten years ago and only stands in her "beloved south" after a long time in a wheelchair. Or Mathias, the 32-year-old university professor, who his students won't recognize when he calls for a red card for an opponent. Also standing in the wall is 21-year-old prostitute Anna Kathrin, who works in the black and yellow brothel. "At home games," she says, "there's nothing going on here anyway, because the potential customers are in the stadium." 59-year-old Heinz, who had to take early retirement as a miner, is "the dad of Block 81" and compares the solidarity on the south stand with the camaraderie underground. Ultras member Olli is on the lead singer's podium. With his megaphone, he literally has the mood among the 25,000 in the wall in his hand. Christian (29) is a member of the gay and lesbian fan club "Rainbow Borussen" and knows that homophobia still plays a big role in the stadiums. Also there is 29-year-old Fabian, known as Borsti. He hasn't missed a single BVB game in over eleven years - whether in Dortmund or away. He has completely adapted his professional life to his club. The WDR in-house production was created during the Bundesliga game between Dortmund and Mainz on April 20, 2013. 16 cameras were aimed exclusively at the "wall" and the people in it that afternoon. ????
