Climate change has a major impact on nature and causes two main problems for species diversity: Firstly, the climate is changing faster than many animals and plants can adapt or move to new locations. This can also have economic consequences, for example if agriculture no longer functions due to the new climatic conditions and deprives people of their livelihood. ARD and ZDF correspondents show examples: Susann von Lojewski reports from East Africa, Karin Bensch-Nadebusch from Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Marie-Kristin Boese from the deforestation of the Amazon forest in Colombia and Christiane Justus shows how a coffee farmer in Vietnam is defying climate change.
