Unforgettable hits of the Great Lorgio Rodriguez. The Gavilan of the copla, left us a great legacy. He was born in Yopal on March 21, 1970, but grew up in the territories of Nunchía, next to his parents Nemecio Rodriguez, and his mother Filomena Peña, he studied his primary school at the Caño Hondo, Las Cañas and La Yopalosa schools and did until ninth grade at the social center of night high school. His wife Martha Isabel Urrutia and his daughters Martha Yeimmy Cartherine Rodriguez, Martha Lorena Rodriguez and Azucena del Llano, future stars of the Llanero folklore. He started 10 years ago in the program Estrellas Llaneras, directed by José Suárez, a fact that opened the doors for him to fully venture into Llanero music and today make him the king of the copla in the Colombian-Venezuelan plain. Winner of all the Llano festivals in the counterpoint category. He has participated in Venezuela where he has won twice, second and third the other times. His message to the new figures of singing is "to respect the artists who have paved the way because they deserve it." He does not agree with all singers recording without quality control, because it diminishes the true value of folklore. El Gavilán Coplero as he was known died after being run over by a tractor-trailer after falling from a motorcycle on the Marginal de la Selva road at the intersection to San Luis de Palenque. Rodríguez Peña was accompanied by the Araucanian singer-songwriter Carlos Rico, who was unharmed. PEACE in his GRAVE.
