She was born specifically at number 45 on Calle Sol, a well-known street in the flamenco capital. Like a good Jerez native, Lola Flores was in love with flamenco and dance, and being from the San Miguel neighborhood she had no shortage of flamenco nights in which her artistic eyes captured the best songs and dances, which made her dance and dance from a young age in the tavern owned by her father, Pedro Flores, known as "el Comino". Before she was twelve she was already recognized as a dancer in the artistic circles of Jerez. She sang songs by Concha Piquer and Estrellita Castro, the latter being a great idol of Lola. Lola Flores had her greatest successes as the artistic partner of Manolo Caracol, with whom she worked until 1951. In 1958 she married the guitarist Antonio González Batista, El Pescaílla, with whom she would have three children: Dolores, better known as Lolita, Antonio and Rosario. All three would dedicate themselves to the world of song, as well as her sister Carmen Flores. She also had relationships with the FC Barcelona footballer Gustavo Biosca. With a strong temperament and presence, between 1939 and 1992 Lola Flores appeared in various films, in which she usually played the role of a gypsy. Among them stands out a classic of Spanish cinema from the 40s: Embrujo (1947, Carlos Serrano de Osma), a musical drama in which she accompanies her sentimental and artistic partner at that time, Manolo Caracol. Among her folklore films of the 1950s, the most notable are the successful Morena clara (1954, Luis Lucia), a version of the famous 1934 film, and in the company of Fernando Fernán Gómez, El duende de Jerez (1953) and Maria de la O (1959), which was her first film with Antonio González «El Pescaílla».
