The legendary Tartaruga is among the most famous electric locomotives of the Italian State Railways. The prototype preserved in Pietrarsa pulled the convoy of the test route carried out on 8 November 1967 on the Rome-Naples line in 1h and 24', with a maximum speed of 207 km/h. The General Director of the FS Foundation, engineer Luigi Francesco Cantamessa Armati tells the story of this prestigious group of locomotives in this short video. #FondazioneFSItaliane #FondazioneFS
