If the commercial district of Dongseong-ro, which was the largest downtown area and had a large floating population of young people from the 1980s to the most recent, was prosperous, new commercial districts are being formed in nearby sub-centers such as Gyo-dong and Samdeok-dong or in the alleys of neighborhoods. In Sincheon-dong, Daegu, the winds of change began in the old residential areas. Starting with cafes and restaurants renovated from old houses, each store with its own unique characteristics has increased, and the once quiet alleys have emerged as commercial districts that are gaining attention. The formation of these new commercial districts is directly linked to the vitality of the alleys and is changing the commercial district trends of Daegu that were concentrated in Dongseong-ro. The formula for Daegu's representative commercial district is being broken, and new commercial districts in the form of specialized streets are developing all over the city center, focusing on the small alleys of Daegu.
