We always look for success stories to highlight, but in this episode, unusually, we interview Mishaal Al-Murshid to tell us the story of his failure in business. The story began when the company he worked for let him go, so he went to one of the printing press owners he used to work with as a volunteer in distributing pamphlets of supplications and prayers, asking him to allocate him a small salary so that he could continue distributing pamphlets. But he was surprised by the refusal and that the work was commercial and not charitable as he thought. After that, he started working on distributing pamphlets and cooperating with other printing presses; this helped him achieve greater returns, before he discovered the honey trade and established his business, which failed. Al-Murshid did not stop there, but rather went through different business experiences, such as sheep and real estate trade, among other experiences. However, he suffered huge losses that cost him millions of riyals. So what does it mean to reach zero? And what did he learn from these “blunders”?
