Prof. Umberto Cillo, a specialist in General Surgery, talks to us about Liver and Biliary Tract Tumors and their treatments. He treats pathologies such as liver metastases, pancreatic cancer, neuroendocrine tumors, liver cysts, biliary atresia, liver cirrhosis, liver malformations, and metabolic liver diseases. He also deals specifically with Liver Tumor Surgery, Pancreatic Surgery, Liver Transplant, Liver Tumor Ablation, Biliary Tract Surgery, and Minimally Invasive Liver Resection. In 1989 he graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Padua, where he obtained a Specialization in Emergency Surgery at the University of Padua in 1994. During his studies, he was a Visiting Research Associate in Transplantation at the University of Pittsburgh in the United States. Currently, he is the Director of the Hepatobiliary Surgery Unit and the Liver Transplant Center at the University of Padua, as well as being Full Professor of General Surgery at the Department of Surgical and Gastroenterological Sciences of the University of Padua. As First Surgeon, he has performed over 1000 Hepatobiliary-pancreatic Surgery operations, and as First Operator or Tutor, over 600 Liver Transplants. He is the Author or Co-author of 232 ISI reviewed publications, as well as some printed Chapters and 2 monographs, and is a member of prestigious Scientific Societies such as AISF, SIC, SICU, SICE, EAES.
