About :

Teacher and artist Mayumi Takushi presents us with the Lenten version of the Tree of Life, painted on canvas with a stencil and freehand. In this class, Mayumi uses the stencil to help define the spaces and proportions of the drawing on the canvas, but it is the freehand brushstrokes that give all the volume, shading and lightness to her Lenten tree. This tree, whose intensely colored flowers are commonly confused with the ipê, is different because it usually blooms during Lent. That is why the name refers to the religious date. So, if you change the colors of the flowers to yellow, it can transform into an ipê. And speaking of mixing colors, Mayumi also talks about how to create color combinations for each project, and which are the main colors to create a basic palette.
