In today’s video, we’ll explore four conditions that are often associated with autism but are rarely discussed. These are comorbidities that affect many people on the autism spectrum but are often overlooked. While autism is widely recognized for its core features, such as communication difficulties and repetitive behaviors, there are other associated conditions that can significantly impact quality of life. We’ll talk about catatonia, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS). Although considered rare, these conditions deserve our attention and understanding, as they may be more present in the lives of autistic people than we realize.
