Architect Alvaro Puntoni talks about the construction of Casinha (1942) as an important experience for Artigas, who at the time was a newly graduated architect. In his words, the project broke with the typical São Paulo house, with very well-defined rooms, and brought a new proposal for the configuration of spaces, with the creation of a continuous area from a hydraulic core. Rosa Artigas, Artigas' daughter, recalls its character as a political apparatus, and on this subject, journalist Armênio Guedes defines the building as a center of political radiation, which became the official headquarters of the communist party.
