There are 4 important consequences that you should know about, as then you will understand my tips better: 1. Changes in fatty tissue, i.e. enlargement and proliferation of fat cells, 2. Changes in connective tissue, 3. Changes in the capillary vascular system, 4. Changes in the lymphatic system. Almost only women are affected, and the disease is still incurable and unfortunately often difficult to get under control. This is a hard blow for all those affected at first, because the treatment is time-consuming and consists of physiotherapy, lymphatic drainage or even surgery. But even this is no guarantee that annoying fat pads will no longer form on the legs afterwards, or that they will not come back. Lipedema tip #1: Find the right doctor! Lipedema is difficult to diagnose and requires a lot of time from us doctors and an open ear for our patients. Therefore, you should definitely find a doctor who takes your symptoms seriously and takes enough time to examine you thoroughly. Lipedema tip #2: Diet I am sure that your doctor has already advised you extensively after the diagnosis that diet will play an even more important role from now on. Lipedema doesn't care about your diet, but the biggest problem with lipedema is often your self-image, and a healthy diet can help you to reduce excess weight or get your body in shape. Lipedema tip #3: Sport I can't make such general statements about the third tip, because the way you deal with sport is very individual. You should definitely be physically active in some way. This has several advantages, because sport also contributes enormously to self-confidence and fat burning. 2 elements are important: 1. Endurance training and 2. Strength training. Lipedema tip #4: Experiment a lot! I already mentioned at the beginning of the video that lipedema is a very individual disease. Tips from friends can prove to be totally effective or completely useless. The same applies to the tips in this video. Nevertheless, exchanging ideas with other sufferers can be helpful. Lipedema tip #5: Take care of your skin Finally, we'll come back to an often overlooked problem that quickly causes problems if you don't take care of it in the same way.
