The sixth episode of the Ciência em Prosa 60+ Podcast is now live, an audio program to chat with audiences over 60 about scientific issues that are present in their daily lives. With the title “Let’s make some tea? Popular medicinal plants and their benefits and risks for health and well-being”, this episode discusses the use of medicinal plants as an important resource for treating diseases, even with the expansion of the pharmaceutical industry, and provides relevant tips on preparation, storage and conservation to properly take advantage of the therapeutic properties of these plants. The prose is based on the story of Iara Pereira da Encarnação Alcântara, 66 years old, born in Teófilo Otoni and living in Lavras for 3 years. Since childhood, she has known several medicinal plants and consumes them daily in her diet and, mainly, through teas. Also participating in the chat are Professor Suzan Kelly Bertolucci and Professor José Eduardo Brasil Pereira Pinto, responsible for the Medicinal Garden and professors of the Postgraduate Program in Medicinal, Aromatic and Condimentary Plants at UFLA. -- Production Communications Department (Dcom) • Support from the Minas Gerais State Research Support Foundation (Fapemig) • Responsible for Production Podcast Science in Prose 60+ Gláucia Mendes • Presentation Karina Mascarenhas, Mayara Mesquita • Scriptwriting Gláucia Mendes, Karina Mascarenhas, Mayara Mesquita • Audio Capture and Treatment Márcio Veríssimo • Editing Eder Spuri • Graphic and Audiovisual Planning Eder Spuri, Heider Alvarenga • Graphic Arts Eder Spuri • Production Support Gláucia Mendes, João Renato Maciente, Karina Mascarenhas • Interviewee Suzan Kelly Vilela Bertolucci, José Eduardo Brasil Pereira Pinto, Iara Pereira da Encarnação Alcantara • Soundtrack Anish Parker - Logo Intro Sound (Particle Logo Sting and Corporate Logo Intro), Sangria - Saidbysed • Images Pexels, Greta Hoffman, Anna Pou, Cottonbro, Ron Lach, Tima Miroshnichenko
