The Gastein Valley is a 40 km long valley in the Pongau region of Salzburg in Austria and is crossed by the Gasteiner Ache. We start our journey in the Salzach Valley near Lend and are accompanied by the Gasteiner Ache in the Gastein Valley! The most important places are Dorfgastein, Hofgastein and Bad Gastein. From Bad Gastein, a toll road in the Naßfelder Valley leads to Sportgastein at 1589 m above sea level. From Böckstein, you can only leave the Gastein Valley heading south through the Tauern Tunnel on the Tauern Railway!
