NOTE: Between Ruthe (KM 0) and Koldingen (KM 4.5) there is a navigation ban from November 1st to March 31st, and a navigation ban on Ascension Day (as only for DKV members) and the ban on entering the banks mentioned in the video. Between Koldingen and Grasdorf (KM 8.6) there is also a navigation ban on Ascension Day, a ban on entering the banks - only load at existing jetties! 133 kilometers of city, country, river by paddle. The Leine flows quickly through the middle of Lower Saxony and has a lot to offer, especially around Hanover: from rapids and nature to the big city, everyone gets their money's worth here. We did three consecutive day trips on the Leine from Marienburg Castle to Hodenhagen/Aller, because for us the Leine is practically right on our doorstep. Hence the note: If you want to spend several days on the Leine, you should be particularly careful around Neustadt, because there are hardly any overnight accommodation options near the river. Advantage of the Leine: There are no navigation restrictions or rules regarding water levels on the section presented.
