Camera M. Mališek. Directed by J. Vondráček In its sixth installment, the documentary series dedicated to the legends of Czechoslovak folk and country music will present the development of these musical styles between 1976 and 1988. We will focus on the work of singers Jaroslav Hutka and Vladimír Merta, as well as the first songs of Jaromír Nohavica. Lyricist and songwriter "Jarek" Nohavica comes from Ostrava, where he graduated in 1971 and then studied at the mining college. But he did not finish his studies and began to devote himself to music. He made his debut with the album Darmoděj in 1988. Most of his songs became popular very quickly and remain in the consciousness of music fans not only of folk and country styles to this day. Director Jiří Vondráček also pays attention to the band Marsyas with frontwoman Zuzana Michnova. The space is also dedicated to the beginnings of the work of the lyricist and singer Zuzana Navarová, who are connected with the group Nerez, as well as to a number of other, no less important personalities of the Czechoslovak folk scene of the 70s and 80s. The documentary works with a number of unique archival materials and memories of both the artists themselves and their friends, musicologists and publicists.
