We continue with the series about the most commonly used medications in Rheumatology. It is the turn of #Leflunomide, which you may know as Filarin®, Almura® or Arava®. This medication is very useful in controlling joint inflammation caused by Rheumatoid Arthritis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Psoriatic Arthritis, Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, peripheral manifestations of Spondyloarthropathies or in any situation where your rheumatologist considers it necessary. Again, I was a bit technical, you know that's how I like to talk, with the correct terms, I hope I was able to explain myself adequately. One point that I forgot to mention in the video was that Leflunomide can also put you at risk of infections, and, like Methotrexate, generally when they occur, they are most often mild and of the upper respiratory, genitourinary or gastrointestinal tract. But all kinds of infections have been reported, from pneumonia to meningitis, although this is very rare and I have never seen a case. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to leave them in the comments. I hope it is to your total liking. Do not forget to subscribe to the channel, activate notifications so that you find out when I upload a new video and share this video. These last 3 steps are vital for me to continue making videos with increasingly higher quality and better production.
