On October 12, a lecture by Elizaveta Likhacheva, art historian and director of the Shchusev State Museum of Architecture, was held at Britanka. Elizaveta spoke about the origins of standard housing and the first experiments in this area. What Le Corbusier did, how Soviet architects tried to correct his mistakes and why they failed. How the author of the Palace of Soviets Boris Iofan designed plastic houses, and how consistent Palladian Ivan Zholtovsky came up with Cheryomushki. The lecture was held as part of the information partnership between the BHSHD, the Industrial Design program and the documentary series Soviet Design, a joint production of the Production Center of the Gorky Film Studio and the Amur Waves company.
