The Illmitz Talks took place for the third time this year from August 31 to September 2. Under the motto "We have no more time!" this event was organized by a top-class and committed team from the Illmitz Sustainability Forum. The opening evening was dedicated to the topic of "Ethics of Sustainability," to which four speakers devoted exciting and inspiring lectures: Kenan Güngör, expert on integration and diversity issues; Gerhard Weißgrab, President of the Austrian Buddhist Religious Society; Edith Riether, President of the Global Ethic Initiative Austria and Markus Scholz, founder and director of the Institute for Business Ethics and Sustainable Strategy (IBES). Gerhard Weißgrab's summary of the event: "These three days of talks were full of lectures and discussions by specialists from different fields, but the special thing about them was that it was not specialization that was promoted, but the networking of all these areas and their interaction in daily life. There is no way around the recognition of mutual dependence and so I was able to contribute input from a Buddhist perspective on the first evening of the event, which opened with a discussion on the ethics of sustainability."
