Chemical equilibrium in a chemical reaction indicates that the reactants and products have their concentrations constant. Irreversible reactions are examples of reactions in which at least one of the reactants is completely consumed. An example of this type of reaction is the combustion process. These chemical reactions are called reversible reactions, since the reactants form the products and these return to form the reactants at the same time. In most chemical processes, chemical reactions occur in two directions, which are called direct and reverse reactions.
