The undergraduate course in Museology was implemented at UFMG in 2010, as part of the program for the expansion of higher education in Brazil (Reuni). According to data from the Ministry of Education, 16 other Brazilian universities, 14 of which are public, offer the Museology course. The main objective of the course is to explore the contemporary relationships between museums and societies. Graduates in Museology will be able to interpret the relationships between man, culture and nature, in addition to working in the identification, preservation and use of material and immaterial heritage.
