Believe us, we're going to surprise you! What to do in Eure-et-Loir for a stay near Paris? Let's go for a slow life stay full of beautiful surprises. Easily accessible by train to its prefecture Chartres, the department of Eure-et-Loir is a concentration of nature in its purest state. Between large fields of wheat, sunflowers and even lavender, or its magnificent expanses of forest, it's a real invitation to slow down. So we started this report by visiting Chartres and its magnificent cathedral. It sits right in the middle of the city and is one of the first monuments to be listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. Chartres is also an old town in the upper part with its colorful and half-timbered facades, beautiful monuments, the Eure that crosses it, ultra trendy restaurants and cafes and especially Chartres en lumières. A show for young and old, of incredible beauty! Here are some ideas of things to do and see if you come to visit Chartres: Notre-Dame Cathedral Saint-André Collegiate Church Kayak trip on the Eure Chartres en lumières Maison Picassiette … This stay does not only stop at the prefecture. But what to do in Eure-et-Loir? We told you about slow tourism in the heart of nature, head to two very well-known areas of the department: the Perche and the Loir Valley. To do this, we clearly recommend that you walk or cycle through the Perche Regional Natural Park. But also to discover emblematic places like: The Château des Comtes du Perche Thiron-Gardais for its Abbey + the Royal and Military College of Stéphane Bern The Château de Villebon Côté Vallée du Loir, it is also a mix between heritage and nature. We discovered in particular: The Duchaylatière gardens of Jean-Pierre Coffe Châteaudun Bonneval and its canals nicknamed “Venice of Beauce” We ended this stay in style with an extraordinary experience, dining on board... a hot air balloon! We had already flown in a traditional way, but this experience is just extraordinary. We were speechless, it was so magical. This new travel VLOG really aims to inspire you to travel in France.
