Bernd Witzgall weaves a laundry basket out of white, i.e. peeled, willow. He repeatedly compacts the weave with a striking iron, hence the name "beaten work". The different techniques are clearly visible: the body rim at the bottom, the cube weave at the top. This is followed by a finishing rim, and the basket is closed with a sash with concealed corner posts. At the end, the two handles are turned. www.deutsches-korbmuseum.deVideo: Ernst SchmidtMusic: Musicfox
