As part of the 70th anniversary of VUS Ondráš (formerly VSPT Jánošík), we would like to gradually present you with several videos from the history of the ensemble, whether they are films and documentaries or recordings of premiere or anniversary performances. You can watch the videos on our YouTube channel. In the summer of 2008, information appeared in the media that VUS Ondráš would be closed by the decision of the Minister of Defense. A tense period of negotiations ensued, and a petition was created to save the ensemble, which was signed by almost 20,000 people in a very short time. In the recording, you will see the performance Naposled, which took place on April 19, 2009 at the Janáček Theater, as Ondráš's farewell to the audience and the army after 55 years. But everything turned out well in the end and the threat of extinction was averted at the last minute; on May 29, 2009, the new Minister of Defense canceled his predecessor's order to close the ensemble.
