The former operators of the "Waldrasthaus Karches", Dagmar (71) and Albert (74), have put a lot of sweat and heart into the former forester's lodge since 1989 and they could hardly keep up with the tourists, whole hiking groups arrived by bus to explore the beautiful Fichtel Mountains. Since the restaurant was handed over to daughter Daniela (47) and her husband Fritz (49) in 2000, the inn has been on a rapid downward spiral: guests from the surrounding area are staying away, every rainy day and the resulting lack of tourists immediately has an impact.
