Dreieich Pictures presents: The return of the Landshut to the Bodensee Airport Friedrichshafen. On September 23, the aircraft was transported to Friedrichshafen in an Antonov An-124 to be restored and later exhibited in the Donier Museum. In addition to numerous visitors, contemporary witnesses were also on site. Among them were co-pilot Jürgen Vietor, stewardess Gabriele von Lutzau and GSG-9 member Aribert Martin. The Lufthansa aircraft Landshut was hijacked by terrorists on October 13, 1977 during flight LH181. On October 18, the hostages were freed by the GSG-9 at Mogadishu airport. The hijacking was connected to the Schleyer kidnapping and was part of the German Autumn. In 1985, the aircraft was decommissioned and sold by Lufthansa. It stood unused in Fortaleza, Brazil for many years until it was bought by the federal government in 2017.
