Uncontrolled construction, encroachment on the lakeshore, pollution with sewage and other waste, unsustainable tourism practices. These are just some of the problems that endanger Lake Ohrid – one of the oldest and most diverse lakes in the world. Experts draw attention to the fact that if the lake continues to be managed as it is now, what we have now, our children will certainly not have. Eco-activists, on the other hand, suggest that only the Government is responsible and obliged to protect the Ohrid Region, which has been declared by UNESCO as a world natural and cultural heritage. The documentary film “Lake Ohrid: Endangered World Heritage” was produced by the Institute for Communication Studies.
